Deadly Accident Closes Interstate 790

Interstate 790 was still closed at press time due to a deadly accident that occurred at 6:45 a.m. which included a total of four tractor-trailers and 14 cars. Police Sgt. Albert Wei reported two people were killed and 20 people were injured, four of them seriously.

According to Sgt. Wei, police officers at the scene were having difficulty matching victims with their vehicles. The accident allegedly occurred after two tractor trailers collided, causing a multiple pile-up of vehicles. Fire Chief, Tony Sullivan reported a chaotic scene where his firefighters had to cut the roofs off three cars and numerous ambulances and one helicopter were used to transport the injured to hospitals.

A three hour delay was reported after driver's were diverted to Interstate 690, on the eastern side of the city, during rush hour.
